For those of you that are in Toronto I will be showing a selection of ‘Some Coloured Girls‘ (2017), cyanotype prints, as part of the Feminist Art Fest. The exhibition is at the OCADU (the Ontario College of Art and Design University), 5th till 14th of March. The festival curatorial focus is Narrative Healing, which reflects on relationships, memory and the body – interpreted as sites of trauma, pain and fractures; explored and potentially healed. In ‘Some Coloured Girls‘ I reflected on my personal experience of Jamaican society’s focus on the correlation between status/value and the fairness of skin.
